The Bay Area Mahjong Meetup welcomes all mahjong enthusiasts in the San Francisco bay area. Mahjong is a 4-player tile game that plays somewhat like rummy and poker. The styles of mahjong we play include (but are not limited to) Hong Kong, Riichi, Taiwanese, and American. If you want to play casually or competitively, or if you just want to learn, come sign up! Interested in playing American Mah Jongg and want to join a friendly game? This group is for you. Growing up in Brooklyn, NY I can remember my mother and her friends clicking the tiles while I was trying to sleeep, yep I have been playing a long time. I recently moved to CA and would like to meet others who are interested in playing American Mah Jongg, by the National Mah Jongg League Rules. All levels of players are welcome and I will be happy to run classes for the beginner.
This is a low key Maj Jongg group that is patient as we all learn and non competitive. Any level player welcome.

The North Bay Mahjong club is an open and friendly group of Mahjong players based in Novato, CA. MAHJ "enthusiastics" (my word!) is a meet up group for mature (45+) co-ed Mah Jong players. Join us to play this intense, strategic and exciting game and make a few friends too. We play American Style (NMJL 2013). We do not play any style of Asian Mah Jongg. We play in a private homes in Pacifica and San Francisco. Intermediate and beginner players welcome. I am also an American Mah Jong instructor.
